Pedestrian Dies After Crash - Pimlico

A man has died after being hit by a truck in the state's north.

About 5.50pm yesterday (Thursday 27 March 2026), emergency services were called to the Pacific Motorway, 2km south of Pimlico Road, Pimlico, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Richmond Police District were told the man was allegedly struck by a truck as he entered the roadway after exiting a vehicle in the breakdown lane.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the pedestrian – a man aged in his 20s – however he could be revived and died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the truck – a 32-year-old man – was not injured and taken to Ballina District Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police established a crime scene which was forensically examined by police.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
