Pedestrian Dies After Truck Crash In Kincumber

A man has died in the hospital after being struck by a truck on the state's Central Coast yesterday.

Just after 2.50pm (Tuesday 7 April 2026), emergency services were called to Empire Bay Drive, Kincumber South, following reports of a pedestrian had been hit by a tipper truck.

A man – believed to be in his 80s - was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver – a 45-year-old man – was taken to Gosford Hospital for a mandatory testing.

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

About 8.50pm the same day, police were notified the 81-year-old man had died in the hospital. He is yet to be formally identified.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
