Pedestrian dies following Sunshine North collision

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision which occurred Sunshine North this evening, Victoria Police say.

Officers have been told two women were at the intersection of McIntyre Road and Suffolk Road about 7.10pm.

They started crossing McIntyre Road and were hit by a north bound Ford Ute.

One of the women, a 72-year-old from Sunshine West, was taken to hospital but died shortly after.

The other woman, a 74-year-old from Sunshine North, was taken to hospital suffering serious injuries.

The driver of the ute, a 40-year-old man from Truganina, is currently assisting police with their enquires.
