Pedestrian dies in hospital after crash at Willoughby

A pedestrian has died in hospital following a crash at Willoughby yesterday.

Just before 4pm (Thursday 27 May 2021), emergency services were called to the intersection of High and Rosewall Streets, after reports a woman had been hit by a car.

Officers from North Shore Police Area Command attended and found an injured 88-year-old woman.

She was treated by paramedics and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital.

A crime scene was established and the driver of the Toyota Hilux, a 28-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory hospital.

Police were later notified; the woman had died in hospital.

An investigation is underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
