Pedestrian dies in hospital following crash in Beaconsfield

A pedestrian has died in hospital following a crash in Sydney’s inner-city earlier this week, NSW Police say.

About 1.45pm on Wednesday (31 October 2018), emergency services were called to Botany Road at Beaconsfield, after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.

The pedestrian, a 79-year-old man, was treated at the scene and taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

The Holden driver, a 50-year-old man, stopped and was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Redfern Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the crash.

The pedestrian died in hospital last night (Saturday 3 November 2018).

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
