Pedestrian dies in hospital in Bonnyrigg

A man has died in hospital after being struck by a car at Bonnyrigg on the weekend.

Emergency services were called to a car park on Bonnyrigg Avenue, about 11.15am on Saturday 23 December 2017, after reports a Honda CRV had struck pedestrians.

A 57-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman were treated at the scene, NSW Police say.

The man suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

The man has since died in hospital.

The driver, a 78-year-old man, was also taken to Liverpool Hospital where he was treated for the effects of shock, and underwent mandatory blood and urine tests.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are conducting inquiries and are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact them via Crime Stoppers.
