Pedestrian hit by car in Newtown

A pedestrian remains in a stable condition after he was hit by a car in Newtown last night, NSW Police say.

Just before 11pm today, emergency services were called to Enmore Road following reports a pedestrian was crossing the road when he was hit by ute.

The 34-year-old pedestrian was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

The 28-year-old male driver of the vehicle was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

Police from Newtown Local Area Command attended and commenced investigating the incident.

As inquiries continue, police are urging witnesses to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
