Pedestrian hit by train at South Brighton, SA

Police and emergency services are at the scene of a serious crash at South Brighton where a pedestrian has been struck by a train, according to SA Police.

The collision occurred at the rail crossing on Shoreham Road, South Brighton just before 6.15am on Friday 13 July.

Major Crash and Public Transport Safety Branch officers are heading to the scene to assist the investigation.

Motorists are advised to avoid Shoreham Road as it is closed to all traffic in both directions.

Public transport commuters are advised that trains are currently only running between Adelaide and Brighton, and Seaford to Noarlunga Centre. Buses are also heading to the scene to assist train passengers.
