Pedestrian hit by truck - Corrimal

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a truck in a carpark near Wollongong earlier today.

Shortly after 10am (Monday 26 October 2020), officers from Wollongong Police District were called to a carpark on Railway Street, Corrimal, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a truck.

The pedestrian, a man believed to be aged in his 70s, died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 27-year-old man, was treated at the scene for shock before being taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established, which will be examined by officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command.
