Pedestrian hit - West Ballina

A man remains in hospital after being hit by a car in Ballina overnight.

Shortly before 10pm (Monday 2 March 2020), emergency services were called to the intersection of Kalinga Street and Oakland Avenue, West Ballina, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival, paramedics treated a 30-year-old man before he was flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of the Mitsubishi Lancer – a 30-year-old man – was taken to Ballina District Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Richmond Police District attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
