Pedestrian Killed By Vehicle In Camperdown

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in Sydney's Inner West last week.

About 5.35pm on Wednesday (4 June 2025), emergency services were called to City Road, Camperdown, following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

The pedestrian – a 70-year-old man - was rendered first aid by a passersby before NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and treated the man for head injuries. He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver – 31-year-old woman - was taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established and officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

Police have since been notified the man died in hospital.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.

Investigations are ongoing.
