Pedestrian seriously injured in crash - Hurlstone Park

Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Sydney's inner west overnight.

About 10.55pm yesterday (Friday 2 April 2021), emergency services were called to Canterbury Road, Hurlstone Park following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a Mercedes sedan.

The pedestrian, a 23-year-old man, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver, a 60-year-old man, was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Officers from Burwood Police Area Command secured a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Inquiries are continuing.
