Pedestrian seriously injured, NSW

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Fairy Meadow, NSW Police say.

About 5.40am today (Friday 18 May 2018), emergency services were called to a carpark on the Princes Highway, Fairy Meadow, after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car.

A 60-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a suspected fractured leg, before being airlifted to St George Hospital. He remains in a serious, but stable condition.

The driver, a 19-year-old man, was breath tested at the scene and returned a negative result.

Officers from Wollongong Police District established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
