Pedestrian strike in Alice Springs 14 June

Northern Territory Police are investigating a traffic incident in which a nine year old girl was struck by a vehicle south of Alice Springs at the weekend.

Just after 2pm on Sunday police and emergency services were alerted to an incident 125kms from Alice Springs near Deep Well in which the child was struck by a vehicle.

The child suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the Alice Springs Hospital.

The driver, a 32 year old man, was not a competitor in the Finke Desert Race and is assisting police with inquiries.
