Pedestrian struck by bus – Surfers Paradise

Police are investigating after a man was struck by a school bus at Surfers Paradise this morning, Queensland Police say.

Around 7.30am a collision occurred between the male pedestrian and the bus on Ferny Avenue near the intersection with Pandanus Avenue in the southbound lanes.

A man aged in his 20’s has been transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment to head injuries.

There were around 14 students on the bus at the time of the incident. No students were physically injured and the school has been attending to their welfare.

Motorists are advised that Ferny Avenue southbound is highly congested with traffic being diverted along Ocean Avenue.

Forensic Crash officers will be conducting investigations at the scene.
