Pedestrian struck, man charged, NSW

A man remains in hospital and another man will face court next month after a fail to stop crash at St Marys., NSW Police say

About 4pm yesterday (Thursday 24 May 2018), a 54-year-old man was struck by a Mitsubishi Triton utility at the intersection of Glossop and Brisbane Street, St Marys.

The driver stopped and assisted the man from the road before getting back into his vehicle and allegedly leaving the scene.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to Westmead Hospital, where he may have his foot amputated.

About 6pm on the same day, a 34-year-old man attended the scene.

He was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with fail to stop and assist after impact causing grievous bodily harm, not give particulars to injured person and not give particulars to police.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Penrith Local Court on Tuesday 12 June 2018.
