A woman has been charged with high-range drink driving and had her licence suspended after a pedestrian was struck in Sydney's north yesterday morning.
About 9.30am yesterday (Thursday 9 May 2019), witnesses saw a Mercedes Benz hatch travelling on Pringle Avenue at Belrose.
The driver of the vehicle failed to negotiate a slight right-hand bend at the intersection of Haigh Avenue and struck a 46-year-old woman walking along the footpath.
She was thrown 10m suffering a fractured wrist, concussion and head injury. She was taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command arrested the 55-year-old female driver after she returned a positive roadside breath test.
She was taken to Frenchs Forest Police Station, where she underwent a breath analysis, allegedly returning a reading of 0.278.
She was charged with high-range drink driving and had her licence suspended. Her court date is yet to be set.
