Perry Returns as Paddington Earns First Victoria Call-Up

Victoria has named a 13-player squad for its Dean Jones Trophy clash against South Australia on Monday, October 12, with Mitch Perry returning for his first squad selection of the summer.

Perry was a consistent performer throughout Victoria's 2025/26 Sheffield Shield campaign, taking 34 wickets across 10 matches (Shield and One Day).

Australian Under-19 fast bowler Tom Paddington has also been included in a senior Victorian squad for the first time, continuing the emergence of the state's exciting young talent.

Paddington's selection follows a strong start to the season for Victoria's developing players, with several members of the state's pathway programs putting their hands up for senior opportunities.

Oliver Peake, Peter Handscomb, Fergus O'Neill and Campbell Kellaway also return to the one-day squad following their recent tour of India with Australia A.

Victoria will be looking to secure its second victory of the Dean Jones Trophy season.

Victorian Head Coach Chris Rogers said the squad reflected the depth and emerging talent within the state's program.

"It's great to welcome Mitch back into the squad after the consistency he showed for us throughout last season," Rogers said.

"Tom has worked incredibly hard and thoroughly deserves his first opportunity around the senior Victorian group. He's another exciting young player who has come through our pathway and continued to put his hand up through his performances.

Victoria faces South Australia in the Dean Jones Trophy on Monday, 2pm AEST, October 12 at the Junction Oval. Tickets can be purchased here.
