Pharmacy robbed at Ryde

Investigations are underway following an armed robbery at a pharmacy in Ryde overnight.

About 9.45pm (Thursday 19 December 2019), police were called to a pharmacy on Blaxland Road, near William Street, following reports of an armed robbery.

Police have been told two males entered the store and threatened two employees with a machete, before fleeing the scene on foot with cash and prescription medication. There were also two customers in the store at the time.

No one was physically injured.

The males were described as aged between 25 and 35, one with a tall, large build and the other with a tall, medium build. They were last seen wearing black sports jacket, with hoods and carrying a black sports bag.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced investigations.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information is urged to come forward.
