The second phase of the REC Registry remediation activities is complete following the recent IT issue that led to the creation of duplicate certificates for some Renewable Energy Target participants.
As part of this work, most duplicate certificates have now been removed from affected accounts. Any remaining duplicate certificates have been quarantined, which means they cannot be transferred, traded, tagged or surrendered.
All impacted entities now have unrestricted access to their REC Registry accounts.
The third and final phase of remediation is now underway. This phase will focus on more complex cases where duplicate records of certificates have been transferred to other entities.
While these matters may take longer to finalise, completing the remediation remains our highest priority.
