A Pimpama woman is set to celebrate her birthday in the best way imaginable, with a surprise $620,000 Saturday Gold Lotto win adding an extra sparkle to her special day.
The Queenslander held one of the 10 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4579, drawn Saturday 7 June 2025, and takes home $627,568.96.
So far in 2025, there have been five major lottery wins on the Gold Coast that have collectively taken home more than $74.26 million in prize money.
"Thank you! I can't stop smiling," the winning woman exclaimed when we relayed the newfound fortune.
"I was sitting down on Saturday and thought to myself, 'I might put a ticket on!'.
"It's so exciting. I never expected to win.
"When I first checked the ticket online and saw all the winning numbers, I couldn't believe it.
"There's a lot of shock - hard to grasp!
"I'm not too sure what I'll do with the prize, but it will be paid on the week of my birthday, so it's a nice birthday treat!"
Her winning 12-game QuickPick was purchased via The Lott app - the official home of Australia's lotteries.
