Pimpinio bus crash

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash which occurred on the Western Highway this morning.

Officers have been told a bus carrying about 60 passengers was travelling along the Western Highway near Pimpinio about 2am.

It is believed the trailers of a B-double truck travelling in front of the bus dislodged and blocked the highway in both directions.

The bus crashed into the trailers.

At least two people have suffered serious injuries with the bus driver still trapped in his vehicle.

The highway was closed in both directions as a result of the crash with diversions in place.

The investigation into the crash continues.
