Pizza delivery driver robbed in Wollongong

Police are investigating after a pizza delivery driver was robbed by four men near Wollongong overnight, NSW Police say.

About 10.30pm on Monday 29 January 2018, a 21-year-old man drove to York Road and parked with the intention of delivering several pizzas, that had reportedly been ordered from that address.

As the man took the pizzas from the passenger side of his vehicle four men approached him, one carrying a wooden bat.

After demanding money from the driver, who handed over a quantity of cash, the offenders took the driver’s mobile phone and five pizzas.

The offenders fled towards a park at the end of York Road.

The man drove back to his shop in Woonona where police were contacted.

Officers attached to Wollongong Local Area Command attended, examined the man’s vehicle and commenced their investigation.

The four males have been described to police as being between 18 and 20-years-old of Caucasian appearance and wearing shorts and shirts.

Police have urged anyone with information about the robbery to come forward.
