Gold Coast police would like to make residents aware of an authorised climate-change protest planned for Broadbeach tomorrow (Friday, September 20).
A lawful public-assembly permit has been issued for planned activity between 11:00am and 2.30pm, which will include a march from Victoria Park, through Broadbeach mall, south along Old Burleigh Road, west along Elizabeth Avenue and north along Surf Parade back to Victoria Park.
Police are working with organisers to ensure the activity is conducted safely and with minimum disruption to traffic.
The Queensland Police Service (QPS) supports lawful and peaceful protest and is committed to working with groups to plan and facilitate these activities.
