The Allan Labor Government is helping plan for better traffic flow and safer connections in Nyora, giving locals and freight operators improved access in and around the growing town.
Minister for Roads and Road Safety and Minister for Ports and Freight Melissa Horne today announced works on the Nyora Transport Infrastructure and Connectivity Study will begin - helping to determine what future road and transport upgrades could be considered for funding and delivery.
The study will identify opportunities for road widening, new intersection upgrades and improved pedestrian links, while also supporting efficient freight connections to the South Gippsland Highway.
The project is being delivered with a grant from the Labor Government's Flexible Local Transport Solutions Program, alongside the South Gippsland Shire Council, which will lead the study.
The project will aim to improve safety, encourage active transport and support the efficient movement of freight.
The Flexible Local Transport Solutions Program provides funding to local governments and community organisations for small-scale transport projects, feasibility studies and innovative transport service trials.
