Police have cordoned off an address in Mellor Street, Adelaide while they try to safely arrest the occupant, according to SA Police.
Police were called to a domestic incident in Mellor Street, Adelaide about 7pm on Thursday 23 August. A woman and child were safely removed from the premises when patrols arrived and police continue to negotiate with the man inside.
Other emergency services remain on standby. There have been no reported injuries.
The public are asked to avoid the area if possible.
