Police appeal after aggravated break and enter in West Tamworth

Police are appealing for public assistance following an aggravated break and enter at West Tamworth yesterday, NSW Police say.

Officers from Oxley Local Area Command were called to a unit on Gipps Street around 6am yesterday, after a 96-year-old man woke to find another man in his bedroom.

The man demanded cash and stole a wallet and keys before leaving the unit.

A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic officers.
