Police appeal after alleged child approach in Hurstville

Police are appealing for information following an alleged child approach in Sydney’s south last week, NSW Police say.

About 3pm on Wednesday 11 May 2016, a 12-year-old boy was walking along Woniora Road, Hurstville, when a white Toyota Camry, pulled up behind the boy.

Police have been told the man allegedly yelled at the boy, before opening the car door and motioning the boy to get in.

The boy declined and ran away.

Officers attached to St George Local Area Command were contacted and commenced an investigation.

The man is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, between 25 and 30 years of age, approximately 180cm tall, of slim build with short shaved black hair and clean shaven. The man also appeared to have a scar on his left inner forearm.
