Police appeal after armed robbery at Punchbowl

Police are appealing for public information following an armed robbery at Punchbowl.

About 8pm yesterday (Thursday 9 April 2021), a man – armed with a knife – entered a service station on Punchbowl Road at Punchbowl.

The man threatened a 41-year-old male employee, before stealing cash and cigarettes.

He left the area on foot and was last seen heading toward Benaroon Road.

The employee was not physically injured during the incident.

Detectives attached to Campsie Police Area Command attended and conducted an extensive search of the area, however, were unable to locate the man.

A crime scene was established, and an investigation has been commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, and was wearing a red face mask, blue hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants and gloves.

Inquiries are continuing.
