Police appeal after armed robbery in Albury

Police are appealing for information following an alleged armed robbery in Albury, NSW Police say.

Just after 5am today, a 55-year-old man exited his vehicle on Stanley Street, when he was approached by a man.

Police have been told the man produced a firearm and demanded cash.

The 55-year-old man threw his backpack at the man and ran away, before he attended Albury Police Station to report the incident.

Officers attached to Albury Local Area Command searched the area and have commenced an investigation.

Police would like to speak to a man who might be able to assist with their inquiries. He is described as being 180cm tall, athletic build and broad shoulders. He was last seen wearing dark tracksuit pants and a dark hooded top.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is urged to contact Albury detectives via Crime Stoppers.
