Police are appealing for public information as investigations continue into an armed robbery in Sydney's north west overnight.
About 1.40am today (Friday 26 March 2021), emergency services were called to a licensed premise a Ham Street, South Windsor, following reports of an armed robbery.
Police were told an unknown man – armed with a machete – entered the store and threatened two employees – a 36-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman.
The man stole cash and left the scene on foot, before leaving the area on a motorcycle.
The employees were not physically injured during the incident.
Detectives attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
With assistance from the Dog Unit and PolAir, an extensive canvass of the area was conducted, however; the man was not located.
The man is described as being aged between 40 and 50, with light coloured hair, wearing a dark coloured jumper, grey track pants and black gloves. He was carrying a black backpack.
As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone with information about the incident, or dashcam footage from the area, to come forward.
