Police appeal after assault in Redfern

Police are appealing for public assistance following an assault at Redfern last night, NSW Police say.

Just after 10.30pm (Sunday 29 April 2018), emergency services were called to Renwick Street, after reports of an assault.

Police have been told a 25-year-old man had been assaulted following an argument with another man.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for an arm injury and was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Redfern Police Area Command attended and launched an investigation.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to a man they believe can assist investigators.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged about 30, about 175cm tall, of a medium build, with short, light brown hair, and a beard.

Police continue to investigate the incident, including a possible motivation of homophobic bias, and urge any person with information to assist to contact Crime Stoppers.
