Police appeal after attempted armed robbery at Armidale

Police are appealing for public assistance after an alleged attempted armed robbery in the state's Northern Tablelands at weekend.

About 5.40am on Saturday (29 August 2020), an unknown man armed with a knife entered a woman's vehicle while she was parked on Douglas Street, Armidale.

Police have been told the man threatened the woman and demanded her vehicle, before she sounded the horn and the man fled on foot.

Officers attached to New England Police District attended and commenced an investigation.

The man is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, of thin build and aged in his 20s.
