Police appeal after fight; man in critical condition in Western Sydney

Police are appealing for public information after a fight in Western Sydney last night, that has left a man in a critical condition in hospital, NSW Police say.

About 7.20pm (Saturday 16 June 2018), emergency services were called to a home on Chiltern Road, Guildford, after reports a man was unconscious following a fight.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were told three men were arguing in the street before two vehicles arrived at the location.

An occupant of one of the vehicles approached one of the men and punched him in the head.

A 52-year-old man was located unconscious and treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

He was taken to Westmead Hospital where he has undergone surgery and remains in a critical condition.

A 38-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Granville Police Station, where he was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm in company and affray.

The man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 10 July 2018.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have information, to contact Crime Stoppers.
