Police appeal after robbery at Town Hall Station

Police are appealing for public assistance after man was robbed at Town Hall Railway Station yesterday.

About 7.30pm (Sunday 23 August 2020), three men were standing on Platforms 1 and 2 when they were approached by another three males who challenged them to a fight.

After declining the request, one of the males demanded one man, aged 18, give him his necklace, while the other two males surrounding him.

When the 18-year-old refused, the male grabbed the chain off the man's neck, breaking it, before the second male demanded he hand over his bag and wallet too.

The man handed over an amount of cash before all three males ran from the scene.

The 18-year-old and his two friends reported the matter to police with officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command commencing an investigation.

Police have released an image and descriptions of a man who might assist police with their investigation. He is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, aged 18-20, 180cm tall, medium build, wearing a black tracksuit pants, a black hoodie and a blue face mask.

The second male is described as Middle Eastern in appearance, aged 18-20, 168cm tall, thin build, black hair, wearing a white shirt.
