Nunawading Highway Patrol officers are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a three-car collision in Donvale yesterday morning (15 May).
It is believed a silver Toyota Yaris was travelling inbound along the right-hand lane of Eastlink when it collided with the rear of a white Holden Commodore ute between the Melba Tunnel and Springvale Road.
As a result, the ute hit a third vehicle, also a white Holden Commodore ute.
The ute drivers, both males, and their male passengers were not injured.
Police have been told a man and woman who had been in the Yaris, which was extensively damaged, allegedly fled the scene on foot.
A 23-year-old man was since arrested and has been released pending further enquiries.
The female driver remains outstanding.
