Police appeal for information after attempted robbery of convenience store at Miranda

Police have released CCTV and are appealing for public assistance after the attempted armed robbery of a convenience store in the Shire yesterday.

About 6.20pm (Sunday 23 August 2020), four males entered the store on Kiora Road, Miranda, before one male threatened an employee with a large knife and demanded money.

The employee, a woman aged 45, threatened to throw a bottle of hand sanitiser, causing the men to flee empty handed.

Officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command attended the store and established a crime scene.

As investigations into the incident continue, police have released images of two of four males who may be able to assist with inquiries.

All males are described being aged between 16 and 18 years of age and were wearing black facemasks at the time of the incident.

The first male is described as being Caucasian in appearance. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, black pants, with 'Nautica' written in white on the left leg and black joggers.

The second male is described as 180cm tall, of slim build. He is seen in the vision wearing a grey jumper with a black vest.

The third male is seen in the vision wearing a black hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants and white sneakers. The fourth man was also wearing a dark coloured hoodie and tracksuit pants.

No one was injured in the incident.
