Police appeal for information after woman shot at Glenroy

Armed Crime Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance after a woman was shot in the chest at Glenroy earlier this year, Victoria Police say.

Emergency services were called to Hubert Avenue following reports of a shooting about 11.50pm on Thursday 2 March.

Police have been told a 52-year-old woman went to investigate a noise at the front of the house when she was shot by an unknown person through the front wire door.

She sustained a gun-shot wound to the chest and was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries.

It is believed a dark grey 4WD fled the scene and was last seen travelling south along Hubert Avenue towards Hilton Street.

Detectives are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone that saw any suspicious activity in the area around that time.

Investigators did receive information from Crime Stoppers that a motorcycle was seen in the area at the time of the shooting and would like that caller to call back.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
