Police are appealing for public assistance as an investigation continues into the circumstances of a crash on the Central Coast last week.
Just after 9.20pm on Friday 3 July 2026, emergency services were called to Ficus Avenue, Avoca Beach, following reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District attended and were told the drivers of a Toyota Echo and a Ford Ranger had been involved in a road rage related incident, that began in Terrigal and continued through the suburbs of Avoca Beach, Copacabana and Kincumber.
The driver of the Toyota – a 17-year-old boy – allegedly assaulted the driver of the Ford Ranger – an 18-year-old man, before a 17-year-old passenger from the Toyota was struck by the Ford.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for injuries to his head, chest and legs, before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious condition.
The 18-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for facial injuries at the scene.
Both drivers were subjected to a roadside breath test, which returned a negative result.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing to anyone with information, dash cam or CCTV footage of the two vehicles on Duffys Ave, Terrigal, Willoughby Drive, Terrigal, Scenic Highway towards Avoca, Avoca Drive, Avoca Beach, Cape Three Points Road, Avoca Beach, Cullens Road, Copacabana, Empire Bay Drive, Kincumber, Avoca Drive, Kincumber, and Ficus Avenue, Avoca Beach around 9.20pm on Friday 3 July 2026, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
