Police appeal for public help: Serious traffic crash at Chinchilla

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious crash involving a truck and a four-wheel-drive that occurred at Chinchilla on June 4.

Preliminary information suggests a truck was travelling eastbound on the Warrego Highway when a Landcruiser which had been parked to the left pulled out onto the road just at around 11.55pm.

The truck then collided with the Landcruiser, causing it to travel forward before hitting a tree.

The drive and sole occupant of the Landcruiser, an 83-year-old local man, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital in a critical condition.

The 39-year-old male truck driver was uninjured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for anyone who may have been travelling in the area at the time and have dash cam vision to come forward.
