Police appeal for witnesses after Altona North stabbing

Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a stabbing at a sporting venue in Altona North last month.

The incident occurred at a basketball tournament at the Doherty's Road venue, just after 8.30pm on Sunday 28 November.

Police have been told a group of men attended the venue and a fight broke out between the men and tournament organisers.

A 22-year-old Werribee man sustained stab wounds to his upper body and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A second man aged 22 from Werribee was also treated on scene by paramedics.

Investigators believe a number of people were at the venue at the time of the incident and are keen to speak to any witnesses.

Police have releases images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
