Police appeal for witnesses following altercation at Heidelberg

Heidelberg police are appealing for public assistance following an altercation between two men and the female driver of a pilot vehicle for an oversized truck at 1am this morning, Victoria Police say.

Investigators have been told an oversize truck convoy travelled through the intersection of Dora Street and Banksia Street Heidelberg, where a verbal altercation took place between the pilot car driver and the driver and passenger of a gold-coloured vehicle.

Police have been told the driver of the gold sedan then approached the pilot car, kicking it and causing damage.

At the intersection of Lower Heidelberg Road and Banksia Street, the driver and passenger again approached the pilot car carrying a steel bar and a glass bottle.

After verbally abusing the oversize-truck convoy drivers they left the scene.

They were last seen travelling west on Banksia Street.

One of the males is described as 18-20 years-old, slim build, 170cm tall with blond collar length scruffy hair.

He was last seen wearing a t-shirt, shorts and black runners.

The second male is described as 18-20 years-old with a slim build and unshaven.

He was wearing a black baseball cap, black top, cream chino shorts and black shoes.

Police are hoping to speak to anyone who witnessed, or has dashcam footage, of the incidents.
