Geelong Highway Patrol members are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist was struck and killed in Geelong this morning, Victoria Police say.
Police believe the man, aged in his 40’s, was riding along Ryrie Street about 8.10am when he was struck by a truck as he attempted to move across the road.
The driver of the truck, a 58-year-old Portarlington man, was not injured and stopped immediately to render assistance.
Police have been told that the cyclist was seen riding the wrong way along Ryrie Street and may have been spoken to by other motorists prior to the collision.
Investigators are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the cyclist on Ryrie Street and are urging anyone with information to contact to contact Crime Stoppers.
