Police appeal for witnesses to Aspendale stabbing

Detectives from Kingston Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for assistance from the public following a stabbing in Aspendale this morning.

Investigators have been told the 18-year-old victim had a verbal altercation with a youth on Fifth Avenue about 1am before a brawl erupted involving up to ten youths.

The victim was stabbed multiple times by the unidentified male youth before he fled the scene.

Friends of the victim conveyed him to hospital before flagging down paramedics on the Frankston Freeway near Thompsons Road.

The Langwarrin teen was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
