Police appeal for witnessess following Lyndhurst hit run

Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following a hit-run collision at Lyndhurst on 1 December, Victoria Police say.

The incident occurred on the Glasscocks Road about 6pm.

Police understand two vehicles were driving north towards Dandenong when the drivers became involved in an argument.

The driver of a Volkswagen sedan and his passenger exited their vehicle on Glasscocks road and approached the second vehicle, believed to be a black SUV.

The 34-year-old driver of the Volkswagen sedan was struck by the second vehicle and taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The black SUV left the scene and is yet to be located.

The male driver is perceived to be of Pacific Islander appearance and was wearing a large straw hat.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses who saw the collision or any driver who may have dash cam footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
