Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage girl missing from the state's north.
Quenisha Walford, aged 13, was last seen by a family member about 10.30pm yesterday (Thursday 1 July 2021), at her home on Fantasia Street, Lightning Ridge.
Officers attached to Central North Police District were notified about 9.30am today (Friday 2 July 2021) after she failed to return home and commenced an investigation into her whereabouts.
Police have established she boarded a bus at 7am today from Lightning Ridge and may have travelled onward to St George in Queensland.
It is believed she maybe be attempting to travelling onto Charleville or Toowoomba in Queensland.
Quenisha is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 170cm tall, of solid build, with shoulder length light brown hair.
She was last seen wearing an orange jumper and flat shoes.
Police and Quenisha's family have serious concerns for her welfare due to her young age.
Queensland Police Service are assisting with the investigation.
