Police Appeal To Locate Child Missing From Shellharbour

Police are appealing for information to locate a young child missing from the state's south.

Ma-Thayus Thomas, a 14-month-old boy, was last seen on Sophia Street, Shellharbour, about 7pm yesterday (Wednesday 22 October 2025).

When he was unable to be located, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for his welfare due to his young age and requires medication.

Ma-Thayus is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 75cm tall, of medium build, with short brown hair and brown eyes.

Police believe the child is in the company of a woman known to him.

She is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 170cm tall, of thin build, with long black hair usually tied in a high bun with a white bow.

She was last seen wearing a white shirt and green shorts.
