Police appeal to locate elderly man missing from Sydney's inner west

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man missing from Sydney's inner west.

George Georgiou, aged 96, left his aged care facility on Johnston Street, Annandale about 9am today (Monday 27 December 2021).

He was later seen at the Tramsheds on Dalgal Way, Forest Lodge about 11am.

When he failed to return and could not be located, officers attached to Leichhardt Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries to locate him.

Family and police hold concerns for his welfare as George lives with dementia.

George is described as being of Mediterranean appearance, about 160cm tall, of thin build, with grey hair. He was last seen wearing a navy-blue jumper, navy-blue shorts, black hat and black shoes, and uses a mobility walking frame.

He is known to frequent the Kings Cross and North Shore areas.
