Police appeal to locate elderly man missing from Bankstown aged-care facility

Police are appealing for community assistance to locate an elderly man missing from an aged-care facility in Bankstown.

Fred Hajjar, aged 79, is a resident of an aged-care facility in Hixson Road and was last seen by staff about 4.45pm yesterday (Monday 4 May 2020) after informing them he had an appointment.

He was reported missing to officers from Bankstown Police Area Command by staff after he failed to return to the facility.

Police and staff hold serious concerns for Fred's welfare as he is required to take regular medication, and this is out of character.

Fred is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 165cm tall with a thin build.

He was last seen wearing a light and dark coloured brown jumper with white stripes, khaki-coloured pants and walks with a cane.

Anyone who sights Fred or has information about his whereabouts, are urged to immediately contact Bankstown Police Station on (02) 9783 2199 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
