Police Appeal To Locate Man Missing From Redfern 7 December

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from the Redfern area.

Chengdu Liu, aged 83, was last seen on Pitt Street, Waterloo, about 1.00pm today (Sunday 7 December 2025).

When he was unable to be located or contacted, officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family have concerns for Chengdu's welfare as he lives with dementia and is non-English speaking.

Hai is described as being of Asian appearance, about 170cm tall, slim build and short black hair.

He was last seen wearing dark pants, a grey zippered long-sleeved tracksuit jacket and a floral cap.

Police inquiries place Chengdu in the Pitt Street Redfern area.
